How Long Was Innocence?

After man was placed in the garden how long did they remain there before they were cast out? The next day? A few weeks or months or eons as we measure time? Did Eve struggle with the temptation or did she just fold at the first meeting with the serpent?

Does anybody really read this forum?

who knows how long they were there? why do would it matter? i recommend Perelandra by CS Lewis for very interesting speculation on the dynamics of how the temptation may have played out.

Time in Garden - I don't know. We have 1,656 years from Creation to the Flood. Adam was created on the sixth day of creation week. Genesis 5:3 tells us that Adam was 130 years of age at the birth of Seth. This is after Cain killed his brother. (How long did Cain dislike his brother? Why as long as he was Abel ) Soooooo. this probably leaves less than 100 years maximum time for the Garden.

Temptation - It appears to me that the natural reading of Genesis 3:1-6 is that it was a one-time temptation. Unfortunately, for many of us that's all it takes. She saw, she desired, and she took. James 1:13-15 (NIV) - "When tempted, no one should say, 'God is tempting me.' For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death." Please note that temptation is not sin.

Forum - Yes. I believe over the next year these forums will grow. Thank you for being a viable part of the beginning of what I pray grows into a wonderful outreach ministry. Because of health issues I may not be able to travel as much in the future, but want to continue to (perhaps in a very small way) make a difference in the lives of others.
