The really Big Bang is found in 2 Peter 3:10, "But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. (Not for the Christian, 1 Thess. 5:4) The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare." (NIV) The Greek word translated "destroyed" in the NIV is a word that literally means, "loosed". Man continues to make feeble attempts at explaining what force it is that holds the nuclei of atoms together. For the Bible believing Christian this is not a problem, i.e. Hebrews 1:3 cf. Colossians 1:16-17. The Big Bang is truly coming.
